Our Beautiful Environment
Our spacious school building has three large, bright classrooms which connect to a central hall, where we meet daily for worship and lunch. We have a smaller fourth classroom space, which some of Willow Class pupils use for their English and Math lessons during the morning and other groups or classes use for a variety of learning in the afternoons.
Each classroom has direct access to outdoor spaces, including a playground and large field, which are integral to both the children's learning, play and relaxation. The children in Willow Class have an Outdoor Classroom, which they are able to access freely throughout the day. There is a dedicated Prayer Garden, which provides space for children to gather peacefully, to reflect, pray or worship.
We are very blessed to have a beautiful lodge in our school grounds which houses our library and nurture space. This warm and welcoming space, has a natural woodland feel. It provides a calm, tranquil place for children to quietly read, listen to stories, choose books or to receive some support for their emotional wellbeing.
The large school field has a range of wooden climbing equipment, a physical activity trail and a story telling throne and seating. The field and playground sit at the bottom of Levin Down with views across the valley to the Goodwood Hills and River Lavant. Our playground has recently been updated, and we now have some fantastic markings which encourage children to be active and allow for plenty of learning outdoors too! The children are able to watch the cattle graze, birds of prey in flight and the seasons change the woodland which surrounds the school — it is the most incredible outdoor classroom!
